After last year's loss of Blue Flag for the Kapsali, this year, after the relevant procedures for her nomination file were completed, the beach was awarded and it's time to get ready to welcome the first swimmers!
The Blue Flag programme, which is implemented in Greece under the responsibility of the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature has this year placed our country second internationally out of 49 countries, with Halkidiki coming top (96 flags for its beaches). Blue Flags for 2021 were awarded to a total of 545 beaches throughout Greece, holding the 13.5% of the total awarded coastlines worldwide.
However, Attica also had its share of honours as 15 of its beaches were awarded and among them Kapsali. The awarded Athenian beaches are the following:

Municipality of Markopoulou Messogaia: Avlaki
Municipality of Lavreotiki: Port of Lascaleio of Keratea
Municipality of Saronikos: Mavro Lithari/EverEden Beach
Municipality of Vari - Voula - Vouliagmeni: Asteras Vouliagmenis/Astir Beach Vouliagmenis, Varkiza, Voula A, Vouliagmeni
Municipality of Glyfada: Glyfada, Glyfada A, Glyfada B
Municipality of Aegina: Ag. Marina
Municipality of Poros: Askeli/Nea Aegli
Municipality of Kythera: Kapsali
The presentation for this year's awards

The annual announcement of the awards of the «Blue Flag» Programme was held this year online, in the presence of many representatives of the state and tourism sector bodies. The event was addressed by a welcoming speech:
