€34 million will be awarded to the following beekeepers to be included in Measure 11 «Organic Agriculture».
The submission of applications for support under this call for proposals takes place between 16 February 2022 and 16 March 2022.
Vassilis Douras, president of the Federation of Beekeeping Associations of Greece (OMSE), said that «in order to join the programme, the beekeeper needs to be certified. It is a positive action but any problems that arise from the implementation of the program, the responsibility lies with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry because it did not have a dialogue with the beekeeping bodies.
The hives and hives (new small beehives) that the beneficiary maintains per year must be registered in the National Electronic Beekeeping Register and the minimum number of them must be five (5).
For Action 11.1.2 (aid for conversion to organic farming and production methods) a total of €22.000.000 will be paid.
For Action 11.2.2 (support for conservation in organic farming and production methods) a total of €12.000.000 will be paid.
The commitment period for beneficiaries of all actions is three years.
For applicants of beekeeping farms which in principle meet the farm eligibility criteria, the farm selection criterion for Action 11.1.2 (Aid for conversion to organic practices and production methods) is: «Young farmers».
For applicants of bee farms which in principle meet the farm eligibility criteria, the farm selection criterion for Action 11.2.2 (Support for conservation in organic practices and production methods) is: «Duration of previous implementation of an organic system».
The maximum amount of aid for action 11.1.2 is EUR 26,39 per destroyed hive or plantation/year.
The maximum amount of aid for action 11.2.2 is EUR 32,89 per hive or per year (EUR 26,39 aid plus EUR 6,5 certification costs).
