On Tuesday, June 14, the first supermoon of the year—out of a total of three—will light up the sky over Kythira. It will coincide with the the Moon's closest approach to Earth, with the result that the moon appears slightly larger and brighter than usual.
The indigenous tribes of the Americas called this particular “Strawberry” Full Moon”, because it coincided with the the peak of the season for the ripening and harvesting of this popular fruit.
