It is announced that, on the initiative of the Health, Labour and Education sections of the C.O. of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, Andreas Xanthos, Mariliza Xenogiannakopoulou and Nikos Filis, «an amendment is submitted to the Parliament to provide for special paid leave for the private and public sector working parents of pre-school and compulsory education children who are diagnosed positive for covid-19’. It is stressed that »this is necessary both to protect and care for sick children at home and to counteract the spread of the pandemic«.
The same amendment also proposes to provide for special leave of absence for teachers with an underlying illness.
