The «Scream» It's back with the fifth film in the horror franchise, and fans of the series can enjoy a first look at the trailer that has been released.
David Arquette and Nev Campbell star once again, Courtney Cox, as in *Scream*, which was released in 1996, featuring a new cast of actors: Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, and Jack Quaid.
In the trailer, we see Jenna Ortega coming face-to-face with the maniacal killer, Ghostface, inside her home. Directors Matt Bellini-Olpin and Tyler Gillette pay homage to the iconic scene from the 1996 film «Scream,» directed by Wes Craven, starring Drew Barrymore.
In a 2020 interview with Jamie Lee Curtis for *Variety* magazine, Neve Campbell revealed that she was «terrified» to play Sidney Prescott for the fifth time, but the passionate letter from Matt Bellini-Olpin and Tyler Gillett ultimately changed her mind.
Nev Campbell, commenting on her role in the new «Scream,» said that «Matt and Tyler became directors because of Wes Craven, and they, in turn, want to honor their mentor. I watched one of their movies, and it was excellent. So I thought, why not? I can contribute, and I’ll enjoy it.».
For Tyler Gillette, the participation of David Arquette, Neve Campbell, and Courteney Cox was non-negotiable, despite the 25 years that have passed since the first «Scream» was released.
«Without them, the film would never have come to fruition, and there was a lot of anxiety until their participation was finalized.» As for the final result, he commented that «»We couldn't have hoped for anything better in terms of how dedicated everyone was to the shoot. They became a real family, with the sole goal of achieving the best possible result.".
«Scream» will be released in theaters on January 14, 2022.
