Another incident that occurred in Thessaloniki Metro on Saturday, when a train was immobilized during a journey, not only causes concern and worry, but was the subject of irony and mockery by social media users.
The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon 14/12, shortly after 18:00, when the train heading to the New Railway Station came to a standstill before arriving at Fleming station.
Passengers, although initially remaining on the train, were forced to get off and walk through the tunnel to reach the nearest station. Meanwhile, service on the line between New Switzerland and University was temporarily suspended and continued to operate only via Track 1.
The Thessaloniki Metro hashtag became the first trend on the X platform. Some with a humorous mood, others with an ironic mood and others angry, highlighting the sloppiness and the dangers created by the repeated problems in train traffic.
Let's look at some of these posts:

It should be noted that the failures are constant in the operation of Thessaloniki Metro, with at least three train stoppages during operation and a Blackout that lasted at least 2.30 hours, already from the first two weeks, as reported by Yannis A. Mylopoulos, Professor of the Faculty of Engineering, former Rector of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
It should be noted that there have been constant failures in the escalators and elevators in all stations since the first day the Metro was put into operation.
There have also been failures at the ticket machines, most of which have been permanently out of order from the very first moment.
