Ο Minister of the Interior, Takis Theodorikakos, speaking at the 4th Digital Dialogue (Digital Dialogue) on the «smart cities» organized as part of the Regional Growth Conference, in the newspaper Peloponnisos, outlined the changes to the public sector hiring process under the new regulations in the ASEP.
«The central idea is that our initiative—which constitutes a major reform of the country’s institutional framework—will speed up the hiring process in the Greek public sector,» and second, «we are aiming for absolute meritocracy,» he noted.
Further clarifying the thrust of the new regulations at ASEP, he emphasized that the message is clear: the right person in the right position. And this is achieved, as he explained, by establishing the nationwide written exam, reliability and validity equivalent to that of the nationwide exams for admission to higher education, as he noted.
«Everyone will know that they will be evaluated on their scientific knowledge, the necessary professional skills, and the appropriate psychological attitude they should possess, based on the position they will hold,» he clarified.
Highlighting the significance of this change, he described it as a major intervention with a historic impact and expressed his optimism that the implementation of the relevant law (with the first phase of implementation in 2022), the situation in Greece will change.
