A unique hands-on workshop for children titled «The Song of the Sea» is organizing the Pasiphae, Kythera on the premises Aether, in Strapodi, Kythira.
Under the guidance of the facilitators, the children will have the opportunity to create collaboratively through play, to listen, to express themselves, and to discover the world of the sea through their own eyes and in their own words.
The performance is based on an original story: the sea has lost its song, and the children are invited to imagine how it can be found again. Using their bodies, voices, and various musical instruments, they will create an entire underwater world, transforming themselves into waves, wind, seaweed, birds, dolphins, and fish.
Each child will add their own sound to the shared soundscape—the sound of the waves, the wind, a seagull, rain, or dolphins. At the end of the workshop, the group will compose and present a short performance lasting 5 to 10 minutes, with no lead actors, as all the children will be equal parts of the «sea.».
The artists are leading the workshop Marianna Agnidi, Iphigenia Vogiatzaki, and Dimitra Sioukiouroglu.
Participation costs 15 euros per workshop. Due to limited space, priority will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
