The 69-year-old shepherd who had been missing since yesterday was found dead in Euboea following the heavy rainfall.
According to reports, the man, who is the first victim of the «Ballos» storm, was located by a Fire Department helicopter. According to the Fire Department, he was found unconscious in a stream bed in the area near the settlement of Tsakaioi in the municipal district of Mesochoria.
The 69-year-old shepherd had called the fire department to ask for help, as he was trapped in the area. He was found dead some distance from his car, which had been swept away by the raging waters during the storm. Pieces of his car had been found earlier. Specifically, the door and other parts of the car were located.
According to reports, the unfortunate man called on Thursday afternoon asking for help, saying, «I’m in danger; the water is sweeping me away,» and from that point on, his phone line went dead.
