Set in 10th century Iceland, The Northman is an eerie, Nordic thriller set in 10th century Iceland and tells the adventure of the Viking prince Amleth (Skarsgaard), who as a child saw his father King Horvendill (Ethan Hawk) murdered before his eyes by the invader Fjölnir (Klaes Bang). Growing up, Hamlet assembles his own army and vows to take revenge, save his mother Queen Gudrun (Nicole Kidman), kill his father's killer and reclaim the kingdom that belongs to him.
This is, in broad strokes, the storyline of The Northman, the highly anticipated film by Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse).
Focus Films has released a new 55-second clip titled «To Valholl», featuring Prince Amleth leading his fellow warriors, walking slowly, without sound, through a misty forest in a high-intensity assault scene.
Joining Alexander Skarsgaard in the cast are Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicole Kidman, Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Clais Bang, Björk.
The film will premiere in Greek cinemas on April 28th with the title «The Man from the North’.
