Meeting of the Kythera Municipal Council at noon on Wednesday 28/4, chaired by Mr. Emmanuel Stathi through the ZOM online platform. The meeting was attended by the Mayor Mr. Eustratios Charhalakis.
The City Council approved the Operating Regulations of the River Bazaar, which was voted for by the majority faction and the minority faction of the minor minority, while the faction of Mr Panagopoulos voted «present» (he had not participated in the relevant procedure in the Economic Committee) without expressing any opinion or position on this very serious issue, neither in the collective bodies of the Municipality nor in the months of public consultation that preceded. The Regulation includes most of the comments made in public, except for the participation of the craftsmen's - artisans' - craftsmen's bazaar, and is accompanied by legal submission of the Emeritus Professor of the Law School of the University of Athens, Mr. George Kasimatis, which is clearly in favour of the Rules of Procedure.
The Board approved the 1η (compulsory) budget revision of the Municipality for the current year, in which accounting adjustments are made to various codes, while the exceptional funding of 300.000 € from the EDF for road construction in the following codes:
Α) Road construction Drymonas - Kalamavros: 150.000€
B) Asphalt paving of the road to Chalko: 75.000€
C) Reconstruction of the road to Phyri Ammos (Livadiou): 75.000€
Furthermore the new funding for the sports infrastructure of Potamos and Friligiankonikon, amounting to 600.000 € from the PHILODEMOS II programme, was registered of the Ministry of Interior, while increased appropriations for tourism promotion for 2021 in order to implement the recently completed destination branding.
The Board unanimously approved the submission of a proposal to the Minister of Interior for the promotion of the issuance of a Presidential Decree defining the 17of August, the feast day of Saint Myron, as a public holiday for the island of Antikythera.
On the proposal of the municipal majority and the recommendation of the Mayor, Mr. Zacharias Souris was appointed as a new full member of the Municipal Committee for Tourism Development and Promotion to replace Mr Frank van Verdee, who has resigned for personal reasons.
Finally, the creation of a Health Centre was approved which will be housed in the Social Grocery Store of Fratzia. This is a new social structure of our Municipality for which information is available here: https://kepygeias.org/
