The National Weather Service (EMY) issued an emergency weather bulletin with the main characteristics of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Specifically, the weather in our country will deteriorate from Monday evening, as part of the bad weather called BOGDAN, which affects Italy, will move towards our region.
More specifically on Tuesday (27-9-2022) will be affected with heavy rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by a large number of lightning, local hailstorms and very strong winds:
α. The northern Ionian Sea and Epirus from dawn until the afternoon and
β. Western Central Greece and possibly the northwestern Peloponnese from mid-morning to evening hours.
The meteorologist warns of strong bad weather in the coming hours Klearhos Marousakis, according to which the weather is expected to deteriorate «from the next few hours in the west with heavy rain and thunderstorms, phenomena that at a local level are capable of causing problems».
The reason for this development is a barometric low from the region of Italy which, as it moves east northeast, will affect the western part of the country with strong phenomena on Tuesday - Wednesday, he notes.
Klearchos Marousakis also posts a map with the geographical areas of our country (orange - lightning) where we must show the required caution.
Rainfall will be milder in the north of our country and possibly on the islands of the eastern Aegean, while towards the east and south it will be quite hot and with increased relative humidity.
