The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USA yesterday Thursday rejected «claims by Turkish officials» that the Washington was behind the failed military coup d'état July 2016 in the Turkey, calling them «completely false».
In a succinct statement released after the Turkish Interior Minister's statement Suleiman Soylu in the Hurriyet newspaper in which Washington «directed» the coup plotters, the Ned Price, representative of State Department, described as «unsubstantiated and irresponsible» the «allegations that the US was responsible» for the bloody events of July 2016.
Mr. Price considered that such statements were not consistent with being «an ally in the NATO and strategic partner of the United States».
Washington has repeatedly denied that it was involved in the failed military coup. However, it has rejected Turkish demands for the extradition of Fethullah Gulen, allegedly his «brain», who lives in Pennsylvania, noting that the Anchor does not provide her with credible evidence in the case.
