Stefanos Rokos - Painting / Cleopatra Tsali - Sculpture

The Monday, August 18, 2025, at 9:00 p.m., the gallery follow your art in Kapsali, Kythira, invites you to the opening of the exhibition entitled

«Stefanos Rokos – Painting, Cleopatra Tsali – Sculpture».

Exhibition dates: August 18–31, 2025

«The five paintings to be exhibited this summer at Georgia Tseri’s gallery in Kythira, alongside the exceptional ceramic sculptures by artist Cleopatra Tsali, are a selection from my recent major series of works, «50,000,000 Tons of Landscapes» (2025) and «The Two Temples» (2022). The two «Souvenirs» and the two snapshots from my 2019 trip to Japan are conceptually and chromatically linked by «We Are Threads I.» This work, which is being exhibited to the public for the first time, was created immediately after the conclusion of my solo exhibition in 2022 and marks the transitional phase from the end of one thematic exploration to the discovery of the next, serving as a connecting link between two distinct sets of existential reflections.

Together with the sculptures of Cleopatra, a cohesive environment is created, which, as a viewer, I observe with emotion as embodying a shared aesthetic approach and a unique sensibility, as if they were pieces of the same difficult puzzle.».

«The ceramic sculptures—candlesticks—that I will be exhibiting this summer at Georgia Tseri’s gallery in Kythira are part of the Cucumis Melo Lamps series. These ceramic totems, inspired by summer fruits, take on a new dimension through the addition of the candle and the flame, and engage in a dialogue with the paintings of my favorite artist, Stefanos Rokos.

I created these ceramics, inspired by the shapes of summer fruits, stacking them one on top of the other in the form of a totem, so that they appear almost sacred. The presence of the flame—a reminder of the fires that, unfortunately, are a part of the Greek summer—is kept under control here, while the human figure, part of the composition, enjoys an afternoon nap.

Our love for craftsmanship, the importance we place on details and on things that often go unnoticed, an abundance of food and sensory experiences, as well as the power to transform a moment—these are the elements that connect us to Stefanos. His work constantly inspires me, and we are in a continuous dialogue—sometimes more directly through our collaborations, and other times indirectly, through music, films, and the moments we share.».

“The five paintings that will be on display this summer at Georgia Tseri’s gallery in Kythera, alongside the exceptional ceramic sculptures by visual artist Kleopatra Tsali, are a selection from my recent major series 50,000,000 Tons of Landscapes (2025) and The Two Temples (2022). The two Keepshakes and the two snapshots from my trip to Japan in 2019 are conceptually and chromatically linked by We Are Threads I. This work, which is being shown to the public for the first time, was created immediately after the conclusion of my solo exhibition in 2022 and marks the transitional phase from the conclusion of one thematic cycle to the discovery of the next, serving as a bridge between two different sets of existential concerns.

”Together with Kleopatra’s sculptures, they form a cohesive environment, which, as a viewer, I observe with emotion, noticing that it embodies a shared aesthetic approach and a distinct sensibility, as if they were pieces of the same difficult puzzle."

“The ceramic sculpture-candelabras that I will present this summer at Georgia Tseri’s gallery in Kythera are part of the Cucumis Melo Lamps series.
These ceramic totems, inspired by summer fruits, take on a new dimension through the addition of wax and flame, entering into a dialogue with the paintings of my beloved artist Stefanos Rokos.

I created these ceramics, inspired by the shapes of summer fruits, stacking them one on top of the other in a totem-like formation so that they appear almost sacred. The presence of the flame—a reminder of the fires that sadly plague the Greek summer—is kept under control here, while the human figure, part of the composition, enjoys an afternoon nap.

The love of craftsmanship, the attention we pay to details and to what often goes unnoticed, an abundance of nourishment and sensory experiences, and the potential to transform the moment—these are the elements that connect us with Stefanos. His work is a constant source of inspiration for me, and we remain in constant dialogue—sometimes more directly through our collaborations, and sometimes indirectly, through music, films, and the moments we share.”
