The Vice-Regional Governor of the Islands, Vaso Theodorakopoulou Bogri, arrived in Kythera today carrying a large quantity of sanitary and other useful material from the Region of Attica. The Vice-Regional Governor was welcomed at the School of Frilingianikon by the Mayor of Kythera Efstratios Harhalakis and the Deputy Mayor of Civil Protection Yannis Katsanevakis. What the Mayor said about the refugee Afghan chief justice who was in danger of losing his life in his homeland after the prevalence of the Taliban throughout the country is shocking.

«Together with Deputy Mayor Yannis Katsanevakis we visited the rescued refugees and listened to their stories. I was shocked by a noble gentleman from Afghanistan who in his home country was a high court judge and is now in danger of death from the regime there because he validated divorces that Sharia prohibits! Among them are relatives of the victims who are in a state of utter despair and have come from Denmark, Germany and Finland. We then visited the Port Authority where the Commander-in-Chief Mr. Sapounas informed us about the procedures for the recovery of the victims» bodies. The moral and natural perpetrator of this tragic situation is Turkey. Is Europe listening?"
