The movement against the plans to install industrial wind farms in Kythera is growing. James Prineas and the Kythera Family today present a video animation which is part of the «Save Kythera» campaign.
The video warns the public about the imminent excessive and unconditional installation of industrial wind farms in Kythera and invites citizens to sign the petition against the plans of the big interests and the RAE.

In principle, no one opposes the energy autonomy of Kythera. The question is whether a completely virgin island will be turned into an industrial wind farm. The approved production permits allow the construction of at least 100 wind turbines the size of a skyscraper, which would be visible from every corner of the island.
The point is not to resist renewable energy sources, but to carefully implement the best “green” technologies with the least possible environmental impact. The point is to share the burden equally across the country and not to allow giant corporations to desecrate the land for the sake of profit.

No one is opposed to the principle of Kythera being energy autonomous. The issue is whether to turn a pristine island into an industrial wind farm. The current proposals would permit at least 100 skyscraper-sized wind-generators to be built, which would be visible from every corner of the island. This is not about resisting renewable energy. It's about carefully implementing the best clean-energy technologies while causing the least environmental impact possible.
