Plot: The 1930s. Newlyweds Meg (Scarlett Johansson) and Robert (Mark Umbers) are vacationing on the beautiful Italian Riviera, but the bright Mediterranean sun is overshadowed by threatening clouds: the mysterious Mrs. Erlynne (Helen Hunt), a mature lady of dubious morals, seems to have her eye on Robert, while the innocent Meg is being relentlessly flirted with by Lord Darlington (Stephen Campbell Moore). At the same time, a wealthy and mature man, Mr. Tuppy (Tom Wilkinson), is determined to ask Erlynne to marry him, ignoring the caustic comments of his friends. On Meg's 21st birthday, the truth begins to unfold, bringing to light a well-hidden family secret...
Oscar Wilde's play “Lady Windermere's Fan” is transported to the cosmopolitan Italian Riviera of 1930, lending a tone of nostalgia and presenting postcard landscapes capable of transporting the viewer to summer destinations tinged with the essence of other eras.
