The Kythera Members' Organization of Kythera intervened with a particularly sharp announcement SYRIZA-P.S., on the occasion of a public statement by the Mayor of Kythera Eustratios Charhalakis on the completion of ten years from the date of his election Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the leadership of the New Democracy. The mayor-party leader and the need to get rid of the government crutches...
The Mayor of Kythera, Mr.Harhalakis, celebrates the completion of 10 years since the election of Mr.Mitsotakis to the leadership of the New Democracy. After all, throughout his term of office he has behaved primarily as a party leader and secondarily as Mayor!
But it is our right to remind him of certain facts:
-The population of Kythera and Antikythera has been constantly decreasing during the years of the country's governance by the Southwest. The young people are leaving, the low birth rate foreshadows even worse years...
-In Kythera and Antikythera during the years of the country's governance by the New Democracy, services, banks and the public sector are shrinking.
-Under ND, public money is distributed to «frappedes» and «butchers» while no funds are allocated to support the real economy and those citizens who want to stay in their country and produce.
-Also under ND, already from 2019-2020, despite the reactions of the agricultural bodies of Kythera, the eligibility of parcels of land on the island for subsidies is removed, resulting in the loss of significant resources from local agricultural production and the economy of Kythera.
-Under ND, accuracy has «taken off», especially in the most remote areas, such as our islands. Under ND, the energy, banking, communications, food, etc. trusts are setting successive records of profitability. At the same time, citizens see the purchasing power of their wages and pensions (based on official Eurostat data) is at the bottom of Europe (we have now passed Bulgaria)...
-The MEPs of the ruling party (the only ones of all the parties in our country) vote in favour of the MERCOSUR agreement which further undermines the agricultural economy of Europe.
-Prime Minister Mitsotakis himself has turned into an uncritical supporter of every adventurous and dangerous policy of Mr.Trump. He went so far as to say that «it is not the moment to comment on the legality» of the kidnapping of Nicolas Maduro!!! He is the only Prime Minister of Greece who (behaving like a vassal) does not defend International Law, the cornerstone of our foreign policy for decades...
-Harchalakis does not say a word about the demands of the farmers, at the same time that all over the country the blockades are an expression of the frustration of rural residents.
-Finally, it should be noted that in no party in the modern Western world is the anniversary of the anniversary of the «leader» being elected to the leadership of his party celebrated. Pride and arrogance is of course a key characteristic of Mr Mitsotakis and is not unknown to Mr Harhalakis...
The Mayor of Kythera has every right to take political, even partisan, positions. Only this way he makes it clearer to every supporter that support for the Mayor and his combination is a direct support for the government of the Southwest. He confirms this at every opportunity, so let his former voters take note.
The O.M. of Kythera of SY.RIZ.A-P.S. reiterates its political proposal for the ridding of the country of all those who are government crutches. The country, like our islands, is going from bad to worse. In the face of this situation, no democratic citizen can invoke the «right to silence»... On the contrary, we all have the obligation to join forces in the effort to get rid of those who act as an obstacle to the development and prosperity of the country.
