The mysterious death of androgynous excursionists, who were on tourism at the Sidirokastro Thermal Baths in Serres, whose bodies were found on Wednesday night in an individual bath in the area, is turning into a thriller.
It is a 72-year-old man and his 70-year-old wife, as known by the police... They were found unconscious by workers at the thermal baths and the circumstances of their death remain unclear. The forensic investigation is expected to shed light on the cause of death of the elderly.
At the scene rushed from the first moment police officers of the Sidirokastro department conducting expert opinion in the area, while a team of the Serres Criminal Investigation Office was called. Information says that even water samples were called from the spot. The version of criminal action seems to be excluded, while the scenarios of drowning and accident are being examined, among others.

According to information from grtimes.gr, it was the third time the couple had undergone a spa treatment at the thermal baths.
«The couple used a private area, something like a jacuzzi if I can describe it correctly, which are available at the Thermal Baths for couples but they didn't get out at the scheduled time. When the delay was noticed, people from the staff immediately went to the venue, knocked on the door but got no response. When they finally entered they found them dead together,» noted the mayor of Sintiki, Fotis Domouchtsidis.
At the same time he added that from the point of view of the municipal enterprise and the operation of the Baths has not found anything wrong. «Everything was working normally and the staff, nurses, doctors were all in place. We cannot know what exactly happened. This will be investigated by the authorities,» Domouchtsidis concluded.
