By his order Regional Governor of Attica The pilot program is launching Automated Priority System for Citizens and Businesses in Transportation and Communications Directorate of the Regional Unit of the Western Sector.
The Regional Governor has requested that appropriate action be taken G. Patoulis to be coordinated by the relevant Deputy Regional Governors for Transportation B. Giannakopoulos and e-Government, M. Kouri. The call for bids for the installation of the specialized system has already been published.
As the Regional Governor of Attica points out in light of this development, «Our goal is to harness technology for the benefit of citizens. Through specific measures, we are putting an end to their inconvenience and long wait times. The Automated Priority System for Citizens and Businesses will be launched on a pilot basis at this specific Directorate, with the goal of expanding it to the remaining Transportation and Communications Directorates in other sectors. Once evaluated, the application will be expanded to other services that interact with citizens and where waiting lines form.».
How the automated system will work
The system will allow users to obtain a ticket remotely via a web page on the Region’s website and will inform citizens both of the estimated wait time and of the specific time remaining before their turn arrives (e.g., 5 minutes before being served).
Citizens will be informed via the service kiosks about the option to use the digital service platform for the services provided by the Region. Similar information will also be provided through the Multichannel Service System for Citizens and Businesses, with the goal, on the one hand, to reduce congestion at physical service waiting areas and, on the other hand, to better serve citizens.
