Another important volunteer initiative for the restoration of nature in Kythira will take place on Saturday. November 22, focusing this time on the historic valley of Neromylos in Mylopotamos, the Saint Marina and the Lower Country.
The action «Walk and Clean», organized by the Pyrgos House Kythira, is continuing for the second time this winter, with the aim of restoring the trails and areas affected by the devastating fires of July 2025.
Participants will walk through one of the most beautiful natural landscapes of Kythira, while helping to clear the trails of burnt branches and bushes and restore damaged dry stone walls.

- End: 2:00 p.m.
The organizers ask volunteers to bring gardening gloves and, for those who have them, pruning shears. Water and small snacks will be provided at the location.
The struggle for recovery continues
After the major fires of the summer, many of the island's favorite trails are in need of systematic care. The «Walk and Clean» initiative is taking place every two weeks, aiming to restore access to trails and attractions that are part of Kythira's historical and natural heritage.
The Pyrgos House team emphasizes that restoration work is not limited to volunteers, as professionals are also needed for more demanding tasks—such as cutting down burned trees and clearing brush with lawnmowers.
