A resolution of solidarity and support for the country's farmers and livestock breeders was issued by the Heptanese Confederation, representing Eptanisian Associations, Clubs, Unions, Federations, and cultural organizations based in Attica.
In its resolution, the Ionian Islands Confederation expresses its unconditional support for people in the primary sector who, as it points out, are fighting for sustainable production conditions and a decent income. It is emphasized that agricultural and livestock production constitutes national priority and a key pillar of support for the national economy.
Special mention is made of the role of farmers and livestock breeders in supporting the local economy, preserving jobs—especially for young people in rural areas—and producing high-quality, internationally recognized products based on raw materials from Greek soil.
At the same time, the resolution emphasizes that a significant part of local production throughout the country contributes decisively to the preservation and promotion of tradition and intangible cultural heritage, elements that are inextricably linked to agricultural and livestock farming activities.
The Ionian Islands Confederation calls on the government to proceed in the immediate satisfaction of just demands farmers and livestock breeders, so that the primary sector, which is one of the main pillars of the Greek economy, remains vibrant and sustainable.
