How Protestantism came into being

Today, October 31, 1517, a priest of the Catholic Church,
professor at the University of Wittenberg
and theologian,
Martin Luther,
nailed to the door of the Metropolitan Church of Wittenberg, in Latin, his 95 Theses...
………………………………………..
Martin Luther was disgusted by how the Catholic Church had become a place where everything was bought and sold.,
with the forgiveness papers and all that unholy stuff
and
was placed with 95 positions, which in his opinion should be discussed
and
the Catholic Church to return to the path of God
………………………………………..
Now I am too bored to write out all 95 points in detail, but the gist of them was that he challenged the Pope's authority to forgive, to take or cancel the decisions of others, etc.
………………………………………..
He also condemned the practice of pardons.
where it was,
do whatever you want
and then to play the good Christian,
you would go to pay and the priests who had caught them would give you a pardon...
Until then, all this was happening and passing as normal...
………………………………………..
Martin Luther also placed particular importance on repentance.
i.e.
proclaimed that salvation of the soul is attained only through faith and repentance
and
no clergyman can give it to you
………………………………………..
in essence, it was damaging trade in the Catholic Church
………………………………………..
For endless years, the papal Catholic Church and its leaders amassed wealth in these ways.
(e.g., indulgences, where you would go, pay, and the priest or pope would give you a certificate of forgiveness for what you had done)
………………………………………..
Finally, after much deliberation, the pope excommunicated him, and he challenged the pope's infallibility.
and went his own way
………………………………………..
What road was that?;
He took it personally and fled to Germany, where he began to write endlessly and pass on his ideas.
………………………………………..
After pressure from the pope, Emperor Charles V renounced Luther and his ideas.
and so
or something like that,
Protestantism was born (from the Latin protestor: to protest).
because
the monks and princes of the Holy Roman Empire, who supported Luther's positions,
protested to the emperor who denounced Luther
………………………………………..
Then we had conflicts, bloodshed, then peace, and then even more conflicts and wars...
………………………………………..
The Thirty Years' War (1618–1648) was such a war.
and
the conflict between Catholics and Protestants within the Holy Roman Empire had more to do with power than religion
………………………………………..
and the bloodshed continued with the massacres of the Huguenots (as French Protestants are called) on the «Night of St. Bartholomew.»
and
in many more pogroms and massacres
………………………………………..
Protestantism from the 20th century onwards has, in my opinion, evolved into the most influential,
not only the religious but also the social culture of the Western world,
which began with its great boom in the USA
………………………………………..
Protestant culture is defined by certain basic principles such as personal responsibility...
………………………………………..
Protestants (not as a religion but more as a social culture) despise excuses.
They teach you from infancy to take responsibility for your actions and that if you fail, it is your fault and not the fault of the weather.
………………………………………..
Furthermore, Protestantism did not fit in with the family-oriented social culture that exists in Greece.
Protestants raise them until they are 18-19, and then that's it.,
you leave home and build your life on your own, relying on your own strength
………………………………………..
Also,
work, working, Protestantism always considered it,
not a livelihood but almost a divine mission,
and
required dedication and discipline...
In general, discipline is very much part of Protestant culture.
………………………………………..
Also,
the accumulation of wealth, which later turned into a culture of saving
and investments in wealth creation are part of the culture of Protestantism.
………………………………………..
In other words, Protestantism is the foundation upon which capitalism was built and grew.
………………………………………..
I'm not pretending that I thought all this up on my own,
has been saying this since the beginning of the 20th century,
one
one of the greatest sociologists in history, Max Weber, who was the first to speak,
for
«Protestant Ethics,“ which created the psychological and moral foundation for the ”Spirit of Capitalism.“
………………………………………..
Exactly that, nothing else.
………………………………………..
PS. Protestantism did not begin in the same way as any other religion or doctrine...
Throughout the years and the evolutionary process of humankind,
of society
and needs,
the frameworks were established
and in countless cases, disagreements and divisions arose.
………………………………………..
Christianity resembles the left wing...
their divisions are endless
initially Orthodox, Catholic, but also Coptic and other churches that emerged
from the schism of Chalcedon
………………………………………..
after
the Orthodox Christians who split into Old Calendarists and New Calendarists
while
Catholics split from Protestants
………………………………………..
after
the Protestants split into 1002 pieces (especially in the USA)
you really can't make head nor tail of it...
Lutheranism,
Calvinism,
Anglican Church,
Baptists,
Methodologists
etc.
