Our party welcomes the initiative of the meeting with the CAA's commander and supports the efforts of the “Cerigo” Association on the important issue of the upgrading of the State Airport of Kythera «Alexander Onassis».
Yesterday's visit to the Civil Aviation Authority highlighted the fact that for 4 years the airport has been abandoned to its «fate» and that the municipal authority has not made any effort for better air transport which will gradually bring about the much desired expansion of the tourist season.
Unfortunately for the Municipal Authority, the upgrading projects at the airport cannot be done through direct contracts to attract its interest.
Those of us who live and work on our islands are raising our families and our children, we have agonies that the Mayor, who is not in charge of the councils and society, cannot feel and understand.
The municipal faction «People First» invites all the healthy forces of our islands, the associations, the professionals, the residents and those who really love and care for this place, to join forces in a common victory struggle and very soon to lead Kythera and Antikythera on the path of real development. A development with better living conditions, better entrepreneurship, better jobs for all.
