Prospero autumnale (L.) Speta
Syn. scilla autumnalis L.
A little autumn gem of these, which, to see them, you have to bend over with care and consideration. Its bulb waits for the first rains to bloom in early October. The small lilies gradually open from the base to the top of the flowering.
The plant is found in almost all of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, in toast, rocky and rocky habitats.
The original name given by Linnaeus, Scilla, refers to the genus to which the ascella ( scilla maritima, see related earlier post) and therefore it is suspected that the plant is toxic.
The name from the Latin verb prospero = to give a good omen, to give hope.
The adjective from the Latin autumnus or auctumnus = autumn>autumnale = autumn
