The Panhellenic Exams for students of general high schools began today, Friday, May 29, 2026, for General High School students vying for one of the 68,788 spots in higher education for the upcoming academic year, 2026–27.
It is worth noting that, in addition to these, applicants must have the following:
– ID card or passport.
– Candidate Registration Form for the Panhellenic Examinations.
– A blue or black pen. It is worth noting that pencils may not be used to fill in the answers, unless otherwise specified in the exam instructions. Candidates are allowed to bring an eraser and a pencil sharpener with them.
– Geometry tools, for the classes that require them.
– A small bottle of water or juice.
– A wristwatch, but not a smartwatch.
However, candidates are prohibited from bringing the following items with them:
– Books, notebooks, and notes.
– Correction fluid (blanco) in any form (liquid or tape).
– Cell phones and other devices used to transmit or receive information and for communication, as well as computers.
What about cell phones?
More specifically, with regard to cell phones, it is prohibited to have a cell phone—even if it is turned off—inside the exam room, and doing so constitutes sufficient grounds for a score of zero on the written exam. In the event that a test-taker, brings a cell phone with them upon arrival at the Exam Center, they are required to hand it over to the chair of the High School Exam Committee, who will store it in a designated area. After the exam is over, the candidate will retrieve their cell phone and leave.
Pay special attention to the management of the notebook
Candidates should keep in mind to use the pages of the exam booklet they will be given sparingly, as no second notebook will be provided to any candidate, since the pages in the notebook have been deemed sufficient for the answers.
Candidates may use the last pages of their workbook as scratch paper, provided that the word «SCRATCH PAPER» is clearly written on all pages used for this purpose. Under no circumstances will these pages be graded.
In addition, when writing their personal information at the beginning of the exam and when writing their answers, candidates must not fold the covers of their exam booklets or crease the booklets.
