How many of you have dealt with the desolation of the islands, half of the Dodecanese being Australia and Germany? How many of you came to stay at least one winter in Leros, where you put lynchets and tied-up bishops for transfer? How many of you when you come to the islands are polite and proper and don't act like capitalists facing natives? You hypocrites don't give a damn about the islands and islanders. You don't give a damn about anyone. We've lived on the islands, we know you. Especially with the Turk-eaters like you, we laugh a lot. We've seen what lads you were in the army, we've seen you up close and we remember. Oh, we remember well.
