In an open letter to the adellinfm, civil engineer Chrysanthos Kalligeros is sounding the alarm about the Temporary shoring work on the port bridge in Diakofti, as also published in Kythera.News, on March 18, 2021, following a related post by the Mayor of Kythira, Eustratios Charhalakis.
In the letter, which is a follow-up to in his previous remarks, Mr. Kalligeros focuses on the twofold problem of the project, which concerns: on the one hand, the temporary solution, which involves the risk of the structure collapsing due to errors and weaknesses in the relevant design, and on the other hand, in the corrosion that has occurred over time and which requires the Direct award of a final design contract to an engineer, a study that will determine whether there is a real risk of the structure collapsing and how urgently any corrective measures should be implemented.
Mr. Kalligeros concludes the letter by listing the six weaknesses of the interim solution study, which has been implemented on the Diakofto Bridge.
