The political confrontation on the island is moving in high tones, with the major opposition party «All Together, Kythera - Antikythera» to go on the offensive, issuing a sharp statement against the Municipal Authority.
At the heart of the controversy is the attitude of the opposition regarding the implementation of the municipal water supply project in Xeroniamata. The faction of Mr. Souris speaks of deliberate concealment of the truth and «loss of temper» on the part of the administration of the municipality, categorically rejecting accusations of obstructionism.
As compelling evidence of its stance, the major opposition cites the «Transparency», citing five specific decisions of the Municipal Committee, which - as he stresses - were taken unanimously with his own positive vote. Indeed, they recall that the project in question was their own proposal when the budget was drawn up.

You deliberately conceal and distort reality in order to distort the true picture of the major opposition's position.

The five decisions of the Municipal Committee for this project are unanimous and the major opposition voted for it five times, exactly as many as were required at all stages of the process, fully recognising its importance for the country.
The head of the major opposition, Mr. Suris and Mr. Megalokonomos, as members of the Municipal Committee, supported the project without any reservations.
It is recalled that prior to the preparation of the budget, the Mayor had asked for project proposals, and this project was proposed by the major opposition, which explicitly requested its inclusion in the budget and then this proposal was adopted by the Municipal Authority.
The major opposition is not an enemy of the country, but a force for control, seriousness and cooperation.
