Our fellow countryman, Panagiotis Stathis, is turning a new and significant chapter in his long career in journalism as he joins the ERT team for the new television season.
As officially announced by public television, the journalist from Kythira will take over as anchor of the in-depth ERTnews news program, which will air daily at 6:00 p.m.
ERT management notes that this collaboration is part of an effort to further strengthen the channel’s news programming, highlighting Panagiotis Stathis’s many years of experience in presenting news bulletins and current affairs programs.
Panagiotis Stathis was born and raised in Kythira and has been working as a journalist since 1990. During his long and successful career, he worked for 25 years at Star as a reporter and news anchor, and spent a significant amount of time covering court proceedings.
He subsequently worked with ANT1, OPEN, and Real FM, hosting news programs and commenting on current political and social events. At the same time, he is the founder and administrator of the news website dikastiko.gr.
His joining the public television news team marks yet another significant milestone in the career of a journalist who has never ceased to speak fondly of the place where he was born and raised, Kythira.
Starting with the new TV season, then, Panagiotis Stathis will be providing daily news updates on his channel ERT News, now in charge of one of public television's main newscasts.
