The establishment of a fixed advance for local communities was announced by the major opposition «All Together, Kythera - Antikythera», referring to a «clear institutional victory» after its own pressure.
According to the faction, while the issue was urgently requested to be included in the City Council on Monday, the President of the Board, Mr. Kapsalis, informed by telephone the head of the opposition, Zacharias Souris, that the process is accelerated. The matter will be brought forward and voted on directly by the next Municipal Committee, where the accountable parties and bank accounts will be appointed.
In its statement, the opposition leaves harsh accusations against the Mayor for «12 years of inaction», stressing that he was finally forced to comply with the law. At the same time, it pledges to closely monitor the full implementation of the measure so that it is applied without exception to all communities on the island.

Following the persistent and documented institutional actions of our party, an urgent request was submitted for the inclusion of the issue of the establishment of a fixed advance on the agenda of the Municipal Council to be held on Monday in the Municipality of Kythera.
Following this, this afternoon, the President of the Municipal Council, Mr.Kapsalis, contacted by telephone with the leader of our party, Mr.Souris Zacharias, informing that the issue will not be introduced in the Municipal Council, but will be forwarded directly to the next meeting of the Municipal Committee and that the establishment of the fixed advance will proceed with its decision.
This meeting is expected to finalise the establishment of the imprest, with the designation of management accounts, bank accounts and all the necessary procedures.
This development is the result of systematic and documented institutional pressure from our party.
Despite his repeated refusals, the Mayor was finally forced to comply with the law, as after 12 years of inactivity the fixed advance was established for the first time.
This is a clear institutional victory for the major opposition, which has enforced the application of the law.
Our party will monitor the full implementation of the decision, so that it can be applied to all Municipal Communities.
