There is a serious the possibility of a new variant of the coronavirus emerging in the future, which will be resistant to the existing vaccine. This is what Pfizer's CEO said in an interview with Fox, Albert Bourla, who, in fact, assured that within 95 days of the variant being detected and identified, the company could have a new vaccine ready to combat it.
Mr. Bourla emphasized that «every time a variant emerges anywhere in the world, our scientists focus on it and examine whether that variant might evade the protection of the vaccine »us.".
«We haven't identified any yet, but we believe it's possible that one might appear someday. So we have developed a plan whereby, within 95 days of identifying the variant, we will have a vaccine ready that is specifically tailored to that variant,» he emphasized.

«We have developed a process whereby, within 95 days of identifying a new dangerous variant, we will be able to have a tailored vaccine,» he adds. «These vaccines work very well at protecting us from serious illness and death, but the major concern is that the next variant to emerge could potentially be resistant to our vaccines,» said Roselle Valeski, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
