The farmers' response to Pavlos Marinakis' new invitation for a meeting with the Prime Minister next Tuesday at Maximou was positive, as according to reports, they accepted the new challenge of the government representative and a new nationwide meeting of the blockades is expected to take place at the weekend, in order to decide the composition of the committee that will undertake the representation at the meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
In fact, the latest information says that the meeting has been «locked» for Tuesday at 6 pm at Maximou.
As reported Thesspost.gr, According to the head of the blockade of Karditsa Kostas Tzellas, the farmers accept the proposal, while on Saturday or Sunday will be a national meeting in Nikaia to appoint the committee that will go to Athens on Tuesday.
At the same time, the Vice President of the Federation of Agricultural Associations of Larissa and spokesman, Socrates Aliftiras, speaking to Real FM, said: «We agree on the three conditions set by the government for the meeting with the Prime Minister. The Greek government has agreed to the three conditions set by the Prime Minister, namely, the unified representation of the blockades, that is, those who took part in all three General Assemblies and in the open roads, as our tractors will be lined up at the edges and will not prevent the passage of vehicles, and the costing of our counter-proposals to the measures that have not satisfied us so far.».
Also, the president of the Vermio Agricultural Association, Kyriakos Lotidis said: «It is in a positive climate that there is a discussion. We need to correct some things from the government's announcements and not just embellish the situation, the government has not given anything to the farmers, it makes them appear to give us something.».
According to estimates, the farmers are oriented to open the roads either tomorrow before the 48-hour period they had decided on, or on Saturday morning, but the tractors will remain lined up on the roads until the dialogue with Mitsotakis takes place.
Marinakis to farmers: «Meet with Mitsotakis on Tuesday»
Thus, the government expresses cautious optimism that this time there will be a response to the new call, which is reflected by the position of the government representative, Pavlou Marinakis, who at noon on Thursday (8/1), issued a new invitation.
«We are here for dialogue, we say it again, we are all together and we say it in a clear formulation, we want this to stop. I make another invitation to the farmers on Tuesday (13 January) when the Prime Minister is in his office to meet, with two clear conditions: That the scale of representation be proportional, i.e. that all mobilisations be represented, because, in order to find a solution to all this, everyone must be represented. And the second condition is that the dialogue must be held with the roads open, because there can be no dialogue with blockades in place,» Marinakis told Newsbomb and Amalia Katzou.
«Suspend these mobilizations, to be proportional representation and on Tuesday can be the meeting,» stressed Pavlos Marinakis speaking to Amalia Katzou addressing the representatives of farmers.
«To avoid any misunderstanding, there is no room for any more measures,» Marinakis said in an interview with Newsbomb.
Consultations in the blockades for the dialogue
At the same time, consultations are already underway in the agricultural blockades and in the next few hours news is expected about the appointment that is not excluded to be «locked» for the beginning of next week.
The government's announcements on measures to strengthen farmers effectively set a «red line» for the terms on which it wants dialogue.
It was made absolutely clear that the measures outline the limits within which aid can move, that exceeding them is prohibited and that the dialogue can be conducted in two ways: Either with representatives of all farmers with the prime minister or, if this is not possible with the «willing» ones, but with the vice-president of the government, Kostis Hatzidakis and the minister of rural development, Kostas Tsiaras.
Hadjidakis: If dialogue is not possible, the law will be applied
The outline of the government's line gave Mr.Hadjidakis speaking to SKAI: «I know from the Ministry of Rural Development that some blockades have already sent a request for a meeting with the government, this changes as the hours pass» and reiterated that the Prime Minister is available to the agricultural unionists if they decide to come together for discussion.
«One way or another we are reaching a phase of dealing with this long pending issue, I want to believe that we will arrive calmly and consensually. If that doesn't happen, the law will be implemented,» he said.
At the same time a new message to farmers that open roads are a necessary condition for dialogue and that there is no room for additional measures was sent by government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis.
«We continue to want dialogue with every professional group, there is no room for further measures,» he said.
«Open channels are a necessary condition for dialogue. We are the government of all citizens,» he added.
The new «rift» in the blockades and the «goblins»
At the same time, according to CNN Greece, the Minister of Rural Development Costas Tsiaras is talking behind the scenes with farmers at the blockades, trying to expand the group that will be willing to enter into dialogue even now.
Already yesterday the news that some blockades are asking for a meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, spread rapidly in Maximos. Farmers from the green lanterns, eastern Thessaloniki, Kerdilia, Mikrothives, Niseli, Skidra, Aeginio, Halkidiki and Patras believe that conditions are now being created for a dialogue between the government and farmers.
To a remark by CNN Greece to a government source that the last time other farmers called them «goblins» who asked for dialogue before the holidays, the answer was that «after the consecration of the waters, goblins do not exist».

Characteristic of the climate is the on-air clash between Rizos Maroudas, president of the Enotic Federation of Agricultural Associations of Larissa and Yannis Vogiatzis from the Green Lanterns in Thessaloniki, on air television broadcast on Thursday morning (8/1), focusing on the mobilizations of farmers.
The attitude of the farmers after 40 days of mobilizations, the number of blockades that are not represented by the Panhellenic Committee, their «guerrilla» and the demand for a meeting with the Prime Minister were the reasons for the confrontation between the two agro-syndicalists during their television presence on ERT.
«We are the Panhellenic Committee of Blockades. We are in all the blockades of the country. The meeting will be with the Prime Minister,» Maroudas said.
He also questioned the letter of his fellow farmers, as well as the number of blockades that state that they are not represented by the Panhellenic Committee, with the counterargument that there are about six blockades.
During their TV appearance, there were spikes on both sides for interfering with other groups' blockades, with representatives asking that no references or characterizations that do not correspond to reality be attributed to them.
