Municipality: Program for the celebration of the national holiday of October 28, 1940

The celebration, which will take place on Thursday, October 28, 2021, will include the following events:

• General Flagging of all Public Buildings - Banks and Houses from the morning of the 26th^of From October until the evening of the 28th^of October.
• Illumination of all public and municipal shops, NPOs and Banks during the evening hours of 27^of and of 28^of October.
• A Doxology will be held at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Crucifixion in Chora, Kythira, on October 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Presided over by His Eminence Seraphim, Metropolitan of Kythira and Antikythira.
• Memorial service at Stai Square in Chora, Kythira, on October 28, 2019, at 11:30 a.m.
• Laying of a wreath at the Memorial of the Fallen in Stai Square by:

-Mayor of Kythira, Mr. Efstratios Charchalakis

-Commander of the Kythira Naval Observation Post, Commander Emmanouil Amblianitis, Hellenic Navy

-Commander of the Kythira Coast Guard Station, First Sergeant Pilikos Triantafyllos – Antonios

-Head of the Kythira Police Station, Lieutenant Niki Giannakopoulou

-Representative of the Kythira Municipal and Community Council, Fire Lieutenant Georgios Kiskiras

-Representative of the National Resistance, Mr. Emmanouil Daponte

-School Student Representative, Mr. Emmanouil Kasimati

• One minute's silence
• National Anthem Recall
• Delivery of a celebratory speech by the high school principal, Ms. Eleni Megalokonou
• Student Parade

Mr. Dimitrios Andrikopoulos, professor of physical education, has been appointed master of ceremonies..

The events will be musically covered by the Potamos Philharmonic Orchestra, courtesy of its Director Mr. Panagiotis Leftheris.
