”We can now pay out primary pensions within two months,” said, among other things, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his speech at the Ministry of Labor’s event on progress in clearing the backlog of pending pensions. “The government’s policy has a strong social focus on supporting our most vulnerable fellow citizens,” stated Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who added that as of January 1,2023, a substantial increase in pensions exceeding 7% is expected, and this, combined with the abolition of the solidarity contribution and the one-time allowance of 250 euros for pensioners, will help support their income, particularly for those on low pensions.
