Kyriakos Mitsotakis arrived in Thessaloniki on Wednesday afternoon, where he was welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Macedonia and Thrace, Stavros Kalafatis and the head of the Prime Minister's Office, Maria Antoniou.
On his arrival at the ministry, asked about the situation in hospitals with the suspension of thousands of unvaccinated health workers and whether it worries him, the prime minister responded in four words: “Everything is under control.”.
The Prime Minister's reception was attended by the members of the New Democracy party: Anna Efthymiou, Dimitris Kouvelas, Simos Simopoulos, Elena Rapti, Theodoros Karaoglou, Savvas Anastasiades, Tasos Spiliopoulos, Konstantinos Gioulekas and Dimitris Vartzopoulos.
Immediately afterwards, Mitsotakis had a meeting with members of the New Democracy party elected in the prefecture of Thessaloniki and the president of the party's NODE, Tasos Spiliopoulos.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister told MEPs that he had come straight from Slovenia and would travel to Marseille on Friday.
After its completion, meetings will follow with representatives of productive and scientific bodies and those responsible for the major projects in Thessaloniki. The meetings will be attended by competent ministers depending on the issues under discussion. Specifically, the programme of Kyriakos Mitsotakis includes meetings with the mayor of the city, Konstantinos Zervas, the Regional Governor of Central Macedonia, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, with productive bodies and representatives of the Chambers of Thessaloniki, as well as with rectors. The Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, also arrived at the Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace.
