Government officials on the changes in the governmental structure: The prime minister, when he sees fit, makes corrective moves to enhance the effectiveness of the government's work
Government officials after the announcement of the changes in the government's composition say the following:
«The Prime Minister, as he has shown in all previous years, when he sees fit, he takes corrective action in order to enhance the effectiveness of the government's work. And on this occasion he acted swiftly and decisively to ensure that we have a more dynamic start to the new year in critical areas. In this context and given the priority that the government gives to issues of citizen security, the head of the Ministry of Citizen Protection is Michael Chrysochoidis, who has a wealth of experience in this area, while the Deputy Minister is a member of the younger generation, MP Andreas Nikolakopoulos. Head of the Ministry of Health, a sector on which the government also places great emphasis, is Adonis Georgiades, a minister with reform experience, in order to take forward the reforms that have already started in the past months. The Minister of Labour is Donna Michailidou, who has successfully served in this ministry, while the Deputy Minister of Education, in charge of Vocational Training, is Ioanna Lytrivi, a member of the State Parliament, with a very high level of expertise and experience in this field. The government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis, also a member of the new generation, is promoted to Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and, along with representing the government, he also assumes the responsibilities of the press. It should be noted that with the changes, one more woman takes up a ministerial position and another one is added to the posts of deputy ministers, while three executives of the younger generation join the cabinet. The number of ministers and deputy ministers does not increase, since already the Deputy Minister of Defence N. Hardalias has been elected Regional Minister of Attica and has not been replaced.
