On the occasion of the olive picking season, let us remember the ingenious invention of Andreas Lourantos - Contaratos that made a splash with impressive results and was captured in a YouTube video that went viral. Back in 2012, our little guy invented a method for people «older or untrained in manual labour», as we hear him explain on camera.
Specifically, he used the wheels from his daughter's old bicycle, on which he attached the olive cutter, supported on a pole whose height is adjustable by hand, weighed it and hooked it in the middle, on a weightlifting belt. From there, the task is simple. «Where I go, it goes,» we hear him exclaim with all the pride of his construction.
«Another important thing is that you don't tire your neck, since you are not directly under the olive tree», added Mr Andreas, who did not fail to thank his assistants in the whole project, introducing them to the camera.
His eternal memory and good luck for the whole world.
