«We are expecting Mr. Tsipras in Parliament on Thursday so that he can comment on the revelations—which are indeed shocking. He and his party have embarked on an unprecedented campaign of vulgarity,” states a press release from Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s press office, in response to the statement by the leader of the official opposition.
The Maximos Mansion is launching a fierce attack against the former prime minister and his party, calling on political forces to rise to the occasion, and stating that «SYRIZA and Mr. Tsipras, sometimes openly and sometimes hiding behind their army of online trolls, have reached the lowest point of smear campaigns, even going so far as to refer to #ΝΔ_pedophiles.».
The Prime Minister’s Press Office also notes that SYRIZA and Mr. Tsipras «are thus attempting to turn a major issue for all of Greek society—culture, sports, the media, and the workplace—such as the Greek #MeToo movement and cases of pedophilia, which also pertain to his 2017–2018 term in office—into a Greek version of QAnon».
Finally, he points out that the prime minister, by taking the initiative to hold an open debate before the Greek people in Parliament, «calls on all political forces to rise to the occasion so that justice is served and a stop is put to such perverse phenomena.».
