On October 8, 2024, the Municipal Council of Kythira and Antikythira unanimously decided to pursue immediate solutions to the educational problems on the islands, a move welcomed by the «All Together, Kythira–Antikythira» political faction. The faction spearheaded the adoption of the resolution, expressing gratitude to the municipal council members for their support and assuring them that it will continue to actively contribute with proposals and constructive criticism where necessary. The leader, Zacharias Souris, emphasized the importance of unity and pledged to take actions that will improve residents’ quality of life and the islands’ economy. Read the press release:

«Solutions to the problems in education, now.».
We welcome the unanimous decision of the Kythira-Antikythira Municipal Council dated October 8, 2024 calling for specific and immediate solutions to the educational problems facing our islands.
Our coalition took the lead in drafting and adopting the resolution. We would like to thank all the city council members who supported the resolution.
As we have stated, we will support any effort that can contribute positively to addressing the problems faced by the residents and visitors of our islands. We have been, are, and will continue to be present with proposals for solutions to the pressing problems plaguing the residents of Kythira and Antikythira.
That doesn't mean we'll stop criticizing everything we believe isn't being done right or isn't being done at all.
Following the unanimous decision by the Kythira-Antikythira Municipal Council, the leader of our political group, Mr. Zacharias Souris, stated:
«I am pleased that, in the face of this major problem in education, all of us city council members have shown unity. Our islands, their residents, friends, and visitors have expectations of us. We affirm that the goal of our efforts in the City Council is to improve the quality of life for all residents (especially the young) and the productive reconstruction of our islands» economy, always with respect for the environment.”.
