The island’s energy upgrade continues through initiatives by the municipality, which aim to improve the overall quality of life.
In this context, the Municipality of Kythira secured funding from the Green Fund, for the development of an «Electric Vehicle Charging Plan» (S.F.H.O.).
In a related announcement, the Municipality states the following:
«The Green Fund's Board of Directors approved the Funding from the Municipality of Kythira in the amount of €29,760.00 for the development of an «Electric Vehicle Charging Plan» (S.F.H.O.), following a proposal submitted a few weeks ago by our Municipality as part of the «Environmental Balance Actions 2020» Funding Program.
The Electric Vehicle Charging Plan (EVCP) concerns the Siting of publicly accessible electric vehicle charging stations (EVs) of standard or high power, as well as corresponding parking spaces for electric vehicles, within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality.
This specific funding for the Municipality of Kythira will enable the Municipality to fulfill its obligation to draft an SFIO and is part of the Municipality’s broader plan for Implementation of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly infrastructure. In this context, the Municipality intends to participate in the call for proposals under the «Antonis Tritsis» Program to implement electric vehicle initiatives. We would also like to remind you that recently The municipality submitted a proposal for the energy retrofit of three schools on the island with funding from the Attica Regional Operational Program.
The Municipality strives to utilize as many funding sources as possible to carry out projects that help improve our quality of life, through effective collaboration between the Technical Services Department – TTYN and its technical consultants.»
