In a modest event presented on Thursday 4 April 2024 , in the hall of the Triphyllion Foundation of Kytheria, the Commemorative Volume entitled «THE CITIES IN THE REVOLUTION OF 1821» published by the Society of Kytheraic Studies for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution. It is an elegant volume containing colour pictures, maps and archival documents.
The publication was introduced by the President of the H.C.M. and editor of the volume, Kati Aroni-Cichli. Then the volume was analyzed by Irini Lagani, Oμ. Professor of Panteion University and Maria Spiliotopoulou, Director of Research at the Academy of Athens. The presentation was moderated by Mr. Theodoros Koukoulis, Archaeologist.
The event was honoured with the presence of many dear members of the Society and members of the Boards of the Kytherian associations and Foundations.
Kythera also participated in the great uprising and the twelve studies included in the volume reveal interesting aspects of Kytherian participation in the Revolution of 1821 through hitherto unknown sources.
