The science of archaeology, having shed the facade of adventurous, individual and often heroic action, emerges as a suitable means for the realization of this journey.

His documentary film George Didymiotis, «Holidaymakers of History» was created on the occasion of the reopening of the Archaeological Museum of Kythera, in the framework of the project «Repair, Arrangement and Re-exhibition of the Archaeological Museum of Kythera» for the Operational Programme «Attica» of the Programming Period «ESPA 2007-2013» with funding from the European Union and National Resources.
The film is produced by Ephorate of Antiquities of Piraeus and Islands.

The film has participated in international film festivals and has received the following awards:
- the 1st Documentary Short Film Award in 12th Greek Documentary Festival (docfest) held in Chalkida between 13-18 November 2018 (http://www.docfest.gr/anakoinoseis). According to the jury, the film was awarded for the an excellent combination of historical documentation and the poetic perspective with which the subject is approached.
Director's CV: George Didymiotis is 43 years old and comes from Kythera. He studied cinema and media at the University of Kythira. England. Since 1999 he has been working as a director and editor for film and television.
