The passing of bad weather “Adel” experienced today in Kythira, with the island being hit by persistent rainfall, winds from southern directions and, in some places, heavy hail.
According to the data we collected from Fratsi Meteorological Station, the 24-hour period is characterized by continuous rainfall, very high humidity, and heavy cloud cover.
Kalamitis Menas Kalligeros told us that he fell hailstones so large that they exceeded the size of chestnuts.
The hailstorm occurred within a short period of time but with considerable tension, a factor linked to the strong updrafts that often accompany such storms.
November ends with heavy humidity and high rainfall
Data from the Fratsia Meteorological Station already show a very wet November in Kythira, with rainfall reaching 84.6 mm until the 28th of the month.
“Adel” is expected to bring even more significant rainfall, as today's precipitation is continuous and locally intense.
The southerly winds prevailing these days favor conditions of intense humidity and the occurrence of widespread phenomena.

48-hour forecast: “Adel” persists
