The ultimate summer getaway for lovers of classic motorsport is coming to Kythera, with the magical island preparing to host the Kythera Classic Tour 2026 from the 29 May to 1 June.
The event, which has already attracted huge interest, is co-organized by the Hellenic Historic Motor Club (H.H.H.C.C.) and the Municipality of Kythera, with the valuable assistance of SMA TRISKELION. The event is under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and promises to be an exciting four days of nostalgia, driving and local culture.
«Sold out» from February
The response from crews was impressive, as the 60 available places were filled immediately, making the event fully booked as early as the beginning of last February. Participants will cover a total of 135 kilometres of specially designed routes, passing through the most iconic and scenic parts of the island.

The Racing and Touring Programme
Combining safe driving with tourism promotion is at the heart of the programme, which is structured as follows:
- Friday 29 May: The curtain opens in Chora with the necessary administrative and technical inspection of vehicles. At 20:31 the start of the 1st Leg will be given, with a night route ending in Mylopotamos. There, under the plane trees, the crews will enjoy their first dinner with traditional local dishes.
- Saturday 30 May: At 11:01 the 2nd leg starts. The route includes passing through traditional settlements and reconstruction at the historic Myrtidiotissa Monastery (11:31). The continuation (12:31) brings the crews to the mountainous Karavas, where a visit to the traditional village bakery will take place. The last part of the day starts at 16:00 towards Platia Ammos and finishes at 17:01 at Potamos. There, the local Community and the Cultural Association of Potamos will give a warm welcome and treat to the participants.
- Sunday 31 May: The action moves east. Start at 11:01 with a march to Kalamos, Frascia and Paleopolis. The finish will be at the idyllic Avlemonas, giving the opportunity for a refreshing swim. The day - and the event - will culminate in the evening at Kapsali with the festive awarding of the commemorative trophies, against the backdrop of the Aegean sunset.

Synergies and Support
The success of the event is based on the broader cooperation of local stakeholders. Apart from the Municipality, the contribution of the Cultural Association of Potamos and the Association of Tourist Accommodation of Kythera Island is important.
The event is supported by the kind sponsorship of local businesses and institutions, including VAKTAK, Karavas Bakery, Drakakis Tours, Kythera Winery, as well as Kythera.News, which is always next to the big events of the place.
