Plot
The film begins in the orphanage where Thanasis lives, who sings the orphans' song for the last time with the other children, as he was about to leave. It then shows a few moments of Thanasis' life after the orphanage and the jobs he did for a living, including barbering. Later, after joining the army he continued there to barber for the soldiers. But this resulted in Thanasis learning the trade and opening his own barber shop. When a customer comes in, they discuss that he is still looking for his father and that he has even hired a detective for this case. Later, the film shows us the bond he has formed with his neighbor Katina, whom he will ask her to marry him. So on the day he went to ask her, Katina's mother read him the cup and told him that he would meet a relative he had been looking for for a long time. Thanasis was upset.
Then the film moves to the second part, where the detective announces to Thanasis that he has found his father. Thanasis is in shock. However, his father picked him up and took him home. There he introduces him to the house service and shows him their ancestors. As his father was very rich, he later sewed him some good suits and taught him manners. He also mentions to his father the speech he gave to Katina's mother, whom he had not seen for a long time now. After all this, the service began to set up various situations for him, which would make him look crazy in front of his father, who had no other heirs but Thanasis and his service men. So Thanasis would go to the psychiatrist. However, Thanasis seemed very affected by what the servants did to him. The psychiatrist suggested for Thanasis' treatment that he should take long and quiet walks, but the staff took him to noisy places for the most part. His condition worsened. And they almost put him in a mental hospital, and just as he's about to escape, the second part ends.
The third part starts in the barber shop, with Thanasis shouting father, father to a monk. There Katina comes to explain to him that it was just a dream (and nothing else) and to announce the arrival of her Uncle from Australia. Thanasis goes through a second shock, because the uncle was the same one he had dreamed of as his father in his dream. This, afterwards, was explained, as before he fell asleep he had seen a photograph of the uncle in Katina's house. The film ends with Thanasis and Katina's wedding and a dialogue he has with the viewers on the first night of his wedding, in which he forbids them to see more, because the play will become inappropriate.
