It is with great pleasure that we announce the establishment of the Association «Philostorgia», a new organization based on the island of Kythera, whose main purpose is to improving and strengthening the education and health sectors on the island.
The «Philostorgia» Association aspires to be an active link of cooperation between citizens, educators, health professionals and local institutions, aiming to promote actions that enhance the quality of life of the residents of Kythera.
The first informal meeting of the founding members took place on 28 October at the building of the Metropolis in Chora. We have hopes of becoming more with the addition of new members.
On Saturday 14 March 2026 the first General Assembly and the elections for the 7-member Board of Directors have been scheduled.
Until then, the Association operates with a Temporary Administration, consisting of the following: the Bishop of Kythera Seraphim, the Priest Fr. Panagiotis Megalokonomon, Emmanuel P. Kasimatis, Kyriaki Mavrou, Elpida Mariatou, Ioannis N. Kalligeron, Chrysanthi Emertziadis.
Philostorgia is extending an open invitation to all those who wish to actively contribute to the effort for a better tomorrow in Kythera, through contribution, participation and cooperation.
