The conclusion that there is sufficient energy supply and that no disruption to the country’s energy supply is expected emerged from the meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of the prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, concerning the energy self-sufficiency following its decisions Gazprom.
The next payments to Gazprom are scheduled for the third 10-day period of May. As was emphasized during the meeting, Greece is and will remain energy-secure. It should also be noted that the Ministry of Energy has already announced a detailed plan to meet energy needs regardless of how the situation develops.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Kostas Skrekas, the Ministers of State, George Gerapetritis and Akis Skertos, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and government spokesperson, Yannis Oikonomou, the Prime Minister's Chief of Staff, Gregory Demetriades and Greece's Permanent Representative to the European Union, Ambassador Ioannis Vrailas.
Also in attendance were Thanos Dagoumas, president of RAE; Konstantinos Xifaras, CEO of DEPA; the Chairman and CEO of PPC, George Stassis; Deputy Government Spokesperson Aristotelia Peloni; the head of the Prime Minister’s Economic Office, Alexis Patelis, and the director of the Prime Minister’s Press Office, Dimitris Tsiodras.
