In her song «Crucifixion» talks about life in a unique, humble, full way, stepping on the path of wisdom that leaves vain riches, the weaknesses of man and gazes upon the weaknesses of man the rebirth of man through the ashes. Biography of George Kasimatis
He was born on 29 December 1998 in Athens, where he has been living for half of the year. The other half is in his place of origin, the beautiful and mysterious Kythera.
His involvement with music began at a very young age. At the age of 14 he received his degree in modern percussion, with Alberto Panagiotopoulos as his teacher. For two years, in addition to drumming, he also took lessons in classical piano and acoustic guitar. It was then that he started writing his first songs.
From the age of 18 and for three years, he attended theoretical music lessons with the teacher, pianist and composer Panagiotis Theodosiou. These lessons were, in particular, theory, harmony, counterpoint, fugue, jazz harmony and free composition for orchestra. For a period he was involved in the composition of classical and modern music for orchestra and solo piano.
But apart from music, he loves literature, and more specifically poetry and lyrics. So marrying these two, in recent years his main mode of expression has been songwriting. As he says, he has a large set of influences, both for his music and his lyrics. As the main ones towards the musical structure, he chooses rebetiko and traditional Greek music.
The themes of his lyrics are mainly about love for nature and people, life, death, and everything in between, important or «unimportant». «For me, after all, creation is about noticing something that everyone notices, and capturing it in a way that no one thought of,» says George.
In addition to drums, piano, and guitar, he also plays some traditional strings which he is self-taught in. Most notably, three-stringed bouzouki, baglama, and long-sleeved bouzouki.
