The provision of school meals and the expansion of the programme to an additional 268 schools is mentioned in a Twitter post by government spokesman Yannis Economou.
«The School Meals Programme has started with a plan with the inclusion of 268 additional schools - totalling 1,629 - and student participation exceeding 85%, based on the submission of this year's parent declarations,» he said.
«Every day 217,300 meals will be distributed,» he adds.
